During our recent heat-wave it seemed the only humane thing to do was immerse oneself or parts thereof in a cool body of water. I prefer the running type, either for a full-immersion pool or a slow amble among rocks and splash.
Some of these places seem suitable for the Gods and are havens from the foolishness-at-large. I’m happy they are available to anyone who can get there free-of-charge. I come away from these soaks feeling as though I have been infused, inside and out, with some magical emollient that has healed all the dry and cracked recesses.
Places of such beauty and utility make me wonder if there may be, if we have a soul, some Elysian pool to soak in when leaving this parched and dusty place.
